Annual Reports: HMP Blundeston - 2003

Blundeston prison still continues to adjust to its life as a �C� category prison. Although the change in theory took place in May 2002 many adjustments are still required in the regime, attitudes of staff and prisoners for the prison to fully function as a �C� category prison. The new Governor who arrived in April 2003 is working through, with her colleagues, the changes required and progress is successfully being made. A great deal of work was required at the time of Governor Clarke�s arrival to achieve the improvements required and to resolve problems, for example, in the shortages of Purposeful Activity for prisoners and, in the opinion of the IMB, the difficulties of staff morale and detailing. Patience from all concerned is required so that all can work together to achieve a successful and healthy prison at Blundeston.
