Becoming an IMB Member
What does it take to be an IMB member?
IMB members come from all backgrounds and walks of life and are a wide range of ages (our youngest member is currently 20 and our oldest is 82). We value the huge diversity of our members and the different combination of skills and experiences that each is able to bring.
We are not looking for any special qualifications as we will give you all the training you need. However we would particularly welcome applications from individuals who are able to offer the following skills and qualities. Board members should be:

Above all we are looking for people with the time, energy and enthusiasm to make a full contribution to the work of their local Board. Being an IMB member is likely to take up an average of two to three days per month of your time, although this can vary slightly depending on your local Board and the size and nature of the prison or immigration removal centre it monitors.
